Took out the Bee with 6.7m and could not believe how strange the set up felt after having used the Max 2 Air with small sails over the last few months. The straps felt really tight and it was difficult to find the back strap right out on the rail. I think I will widen them like on the Max 2 Air and put my foot further in. The Bee really cuts through the chop nicely though, and carves smoothly. The mast track is a long way forward on the Bee and that caught me out as well, as I set the boom height off the back of the board and ended up with the boom way too high. OK on the reaches but very difficult to gybe with.

Had some good runs and then came in to sort the set up out, but the wind had picked up and I went out on the Max 2 Air and 6.2m. I just could not sail properly though, the sail would not sheet in so I moved the lines back, then I felt I was on the verge of catapulting all the time. Came in to sort it out and realised the head of the sail was not twisting off - the downhaul had looked OK when I set it, but clearly it was not enough. More downhaul, tried again, magic; except that the wind was dropping off by now and I was pretty cold as well.

So what could have been a great session was spoilt by basic rigging errors; my excuse is that I had been using smaller kit and had forgotten how to rig the bigger stuff - must try and get out more.
